Hi, I’m Tamara and I have been a part of Kawana Dental since 2001 after graduating from the University of Queensland. A couple of years teaching at Sydney University from 2009 was enough to highlight all the wonderful things the Sunshine Coast has to offer, and I am now settled here for the long-term with my husband Murray (also a dentist in the practice) and two children, Piper and Harry.
I enjoy most aspects of general dentistry and especially love developing a relationship and looking after people who have a fear of the dentist, or those who have not been to see a dentist for a long time. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing someone say they are not even nervous to come to see me anymore. I also enjoy implant and cosmetic dentistry and love helping people achieve their best smiles.
It is really nice to get to know people over time and I am lucky to look after so many great families. Ensuring children start their dental experiences in a positive way and prevent problems is something I am passionate about and I have loved watching children grow up and become more confident over my years at Kawana Dental. I am proud to be part of a team who treat people like they are part of our family.
I enjoy attending continuing education courses to update my skills and knowledge and am a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Outside of work I try to keep fit with running and pilates, and I love reading and spending time outdoors. With the kids in nippers at Kawana this involves plenty of time at the beach!
